Teaching artist
As A lead teacher at the winnipesaukee playhouse’s Summer Educational Programming and as a beading and oral history workshop leader with urban stages outreach, I have found a love for Theater education. I love teaching theater to children and watching them take the stage to do something they originally thought impossible. Helping students gain confidence, collaborative skills, and a lifelong passion for creative expression guides my priorities as an educator. I believe all children are creative and need guidance and tools to build a connection to their imagination. The teacher's role is to give them the tools, techniques, and confidence they need to create. My experience in special education has solidified my belief that the arts are beneficial to every student, regardless of ability, and I believe it is the teacher’s responsibility to adapt their lessons to address the needs of every student. With nurturing and patient guidance, theater expands each student’s capacity to safely express their emotions, and it fosters creative problem-solving skills.
